Our Story

A home for the heritage of Asia, on the shores of the American West

Magnolia sits on 18 acres of wilderness near Fallen Leaf Lake, just outside South Lake Tahoe. We built this resort for the Asian American community and for anyone who loves Asia but doesn't have the time — or the miles — to cross an ocean to feel it.

Four zones, each drawn from a different corner of Asia, surround a shared heart: gardens, water, mountain air, and the quiet architecture of belonging.

Getting Here

  • Reno-Tahoe International (RNO): approx. 1 hour drive
  • Sacramento International (SMF): approx. 2.5 hour drive
  • San Francisco International (SFO): approx. 3.5 hour drive
  • Driving: follow Highway 89 south along the lake to the Fallen Leaf Lake turnoff
  • Airport Shuttle: scheduled bus service from Reno-Tahoe International, several departures daily — reserve at booking
  • Local Transit: connects to the South Shore area shuttle, with a stop at our entrance path
  • Bus & Rail Station: complimentary pickup on request from the Amtrak & Greyhound station in Truckee
